Sign up for a beginner scuba diving course, typically known as the Open Water Diver course.
This course usually consists of both theoretical and practical components,
covering topics such as dive theory, equipment usage, underwater skills, safety procedures, and environmental awareness.

  1. Classroom Learning: You’ll start with theoretical learning, either through in-person classes or online modules. This will cover diving principles, safety guidelines, equipment use, and dive planning.
  2. Confined Water Training: Once you’ve grasped the theoretical concepts, you’ll move on to confined water training sessions. These are usually conducted in a pool or shallow water where you’ll learn basic scuba skills, such as breathing underwater, clearing your mask, and buoyancy control. You’ll also become familiar with your scuba equipment.
  3. Open Water Dives: After mastering the confined water skills, you’ll progress to open water dives under the supervision of your instructor. Here, you’ll apply what you’ve learned in real diving conditions.
  4. Skill Refinement and Certification: Throughout the course, you’ll refine your skills and demonstrate competency in various diving tasks. Once you’ve completed all the required training and passed the assessments, you’ll receive a certification card. This card allows you to dive within the limits of your training and certification level.

Scuba diving is a sport that requires continuing education. After obtaining your Open Water certification, you can pursue further training and certifications, such as Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Specialty courses, and even professional levels like Divemaster or Instructor.
